Health and Safety Information
Living Spring strives to partner with schools to provide a safe learning environment and takes every measure possible to do this.
Living Springs has been proactive about ensuring camper safety long before it became a legal requirement and we first gained OutdoorsMark accreditation in 2009. We have gained our 3-year renewal in September 2016. OutdoorsMark ensures a very comprehensive inspection of all of our policies and procedure, both in the Adventure Activity department, and on a wider scale throughout the camp. We have three registered activities on the Worksafe NZ Register of Adventure Activities. These are tree climb, rock climbing and abseiling on Schedule A. On Schedule B (non-registered) we have initiatives and adventure stream. All of the programmes we offer at Living Springs have thorough Action Management Plans.
In addition to meeting all of the stringent criteria of OutdoorsMark, we would also like to offer schools, at a minimal cost, an optional ‘Pre-Camp Health & Safety Meeting’. This would be especially helpful for schools and staff who have not been to Living Springs before and would like to familiarise themselves with the camp. Please call the office if you would like to book a pre-camp meeting.
